To separate itself from the pack, Otty’s latest offering takes the brand’s tried and tested hybrid mattress formula and adds bamboo and charcoal to the comfort layers. This, it claims, makes the mattress slightly softer than the standard Otty Hybrid, and also gives it superior moisture wicking and temperature regulation, while also being hypoallergenic.
With plenty in common with Otty’s excellent original Hybrid Mattress, it perhaps comes as no surprise that the Otty Pure Hybrid has picked up top marks in our review. During my testing I found it to be comfortable and supportive in all sleeping positions, and that it offered some of the best temperature regulation of any mattress I’ve reviewed.
With a wealth of full-size pocket springs sandwiched between two layers of memory foam, REM-Fit’s 400 Hybrid mattress is the latest hybrid to land at Expert Reviews’ HQ. After putting it through its paces over the course of a couple of weeks, I’m happy to report there’s another contender in the supportive hybrid market.
REM-Fit 400 Hybrid Mattress review: What you need to know
The 400 Hybrid is the most affordable of three mattresses made by REM-Fit, sitting alongside the 500 Ortho Hybrid and 600 Lux Hybrid, and the manufacturer claims it offers a medium/firm level of support.
The mattress has a relatively simple construction that comprises just three main layers. Its top layer is a 50mm layer of open-cell memory foam, designed to conform to your body shape. Beneath this, there are 2000 (in king size) 150mm tall pocket springs. Finally, to maximise stability, the base layer is constructed from 50mm of high-density foam.
One thing that sets the DreamCloud apart from its rivals, is its long money-back home trial. While other brands such as Otty, Simba and Eve offer 100 or 200 night trials, you’ll get a full year in which to test the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid and decide if it s for you.
What’s more, DreamCloud also offers a lifetime warranty on its hybrid, which protects against defects in workmanship and materials, something no other bed-in-a-box manufacturer provides.
DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid Mattress review: Price and competition
How does it stack up against the competition price-wise, though? Starting at £849 for a single, the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid certainly isn’t a budget mattress, and prices rise as you go up in size. A double will set you back £949, a king £1,049 and a super king £1,149.
