Chilling news is reaching us from the Cape Flats, after reports emerged about the tragic consequences of gang warfare on the streets of Mitchell’s Plain. It’s understood that one of the warring factions opened fire near Imperial Primary School.

A hail of bullets was sprayed across Cadillac Street, and the motive for the attack is yet unknown. Unfortunately, several youngsters were caught in the crossfire. At this stage, we are awaiting confirmation from SAPS about the final death toll: At least one of the children has been killed – with some unverified reports now suggesting the number is higher.
On Saturday afternoon, armed men terrorised the community in Maureen Way, Lost City, in Tafelsig. Five gunmen went on a shooting spree, killing four men between the ages of 30 and 64. The victims were shot at close range, suggesting that they were deliberately targeted.
The victims were sitting in front of their homes when they were taken by surprise by the gunmen in what seemed to be a coordinated attack. They were all shot in the head and the upper body. A fifth victim survived.
The shooting came days after 13-year-old Tamir Mitchells, a Grade 8 pupil at Beacon Hill High, and Morgan Munnik (18), a matriculant at Aloe High School, were killed in an apparent drive-by shooting in Cadillac Street, Beacon Valley, on Thursday night.

KALAMZOO, MI The city of Kalamazoo is in repairing a water valve on Hawley Street, resulting in a temporary loss of pressure, triggering a precautionary boil water advisory.
The advisory was issued on Tuesday, Jan. 12, for all water intended for drinking or any consumptive uses within the affected area including:
Hawley Street – From Conant Street (northern boundary) to West North Street (southern boundary), both sides of street. Does NOT include the following: the southwest corner of Hawley Street and Conant Street, the northwest corner of Hawley Street and Cadillac Street, and the northeast corner of Hawley Street and West North Street.
