Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah has instructed the finance ministry to stop the July salaries of all government employees who haven’t been vaccinated.
The decision was made during a meeting of the provincial task force on Thursday.
The CM even appealed to the people to carry their CNICs to vaccination centres and get inoculated.
Sindh Health Secretary Dr Kazim Hussain Jatoi told the meeting participants that the province has so far tested 26,812 passengers. Of these, 55 tested positive for the coronavirus.
Karachi: The Sindh government has decided to reopen one of Pakistan’s biggest makeshift facilities in Karachi to isolate and treat the patients of coronavirus.
The Field Isolation Centre at the Expo Centre, Karachi was closed in March this year after a constant decline in new coronavirus cases in the country.
A notification to reopen the Expo Centre’s field isolation facility has been issued by Sindh government’s Health Secretary Dr Kazim Hussain Jatoi.
The notification has been issued on the basis of the decision taken by the Sindh government’s Task Force on coronavirus that recently met with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in chair. The Task Force took the decision as the part of a set of other strict precautionary measures imposed in Sindh due to constant increase in positivity ratio of coronavirus cases.

KARACHI: There would be some delay in getting the Covid-19 vaccines from the federal government, earlier planned to be handed over to the Sindh government by Jan 15, the provincial health minister stated on Tuesday.
“The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) had earlier communicated that the vaccines would be delivered by mid-Jan. But, we have just been informed that there would be some delay in this process,” said Health Minister Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho in a statement.
Preparations, however, were in full swing to formulate a policy plan and set up a comprehensive vaccination management and information system at the divisional level, she added.
