Nearly half of Carroll s 2020 class are returning for graduation after COVID cancelation last year

HELENA â The COVID-19 pandemic led to the cancellation of many celebratory events last year such as graduation commencement ceremonies. Carroll College says theyâre proud to bring back commencement ceremonies this year to celebrate their graduates, even though it has been a challenge.
âThe logistics of having two ceremonies in one day, as exciting as it is, thatâs been a big hurdle to overcome,â said Registrar Cassie Hall. âBut I think we have a great plan in place we have a full team of volunteers. Itâs definitely been a campus-wide team effort. â
We’re experiencing another Mother’s Day during the pandemic, but there’s more joy and hopefulness this year compared to Mother’s Day 2020. More families are getting to spend time together this year instead of hopping onto a Zoom call. Mother’s Day is time to celebrate the women who raised us and gives families a reason to come together. This year, it’s even more welcome.
WINK News Reporter Taylor Wirtz asked how some of you how you’re celebrating.
Cassie Hall was in downtown Fort Myers for Mother’s Day. “There’s so many people that have been torn away from their families for whatever has been happening with quarantine, or just people being sick and not able to travel, maybe because they don’t have the means to, because they lost their job,” Hall said. “So us being together, it does mean a lot.”

Take Lachlan Bonett who was there with his slobbery wingman Bruce the dog and his mate Dylan Kinder. We have a tradition, two at 2pm Mr Bonett said; translation: it was beer o clock by the beachside. Â For two-year-old Armani Shaw, the free live music from Mango Junction was the main attraction, as she jumped on stage for a groove. Meanwhile, a swarm of children were making the best of the free jumping castles on offer.
