In light of uncertainty surrounding the closure of Australia’s border amid the global pandemic, and to ensure we can deliver a viable World Congress in October 2021, we have taken the very difficult decision to cancel the in-person element of this year’s World Congress that was due to take place in Australia.
This means that we will no longer be hosting the World Congress in Sydney and will instead hold a virtual-only event. We are extremely grateful to all of our partners, particularly the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG), the Local Organising Committee as well as Business Events Sydney and the government of New South Wales, for their effort in support of what would have been an incredible event in Australia.

It’s a case of giving all the positives that will be of benefit to the human race because people in power will be looking at all the negatives I believe its the future to free people from wage slavery and live a happy well balanced life

The evening of 15th December marked the end of our first ever Hybrid Congress. In collaboration with the African Federation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (AFOG) and the Rwanda Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RSOG), we held our FIGO Africa Regional Kigali Congress, Virtual Event with a Hub in Kigali, for those who live locally to attend, with registrants able to participate virtually from anywhere in the world.
Over two and a half days from 13th to 15th December, the Congress brought together more than 1,100 health professionals and specialists in the fields of gynaecology, obstetrics and women’s health from 74 countries.
