Virtual St Patrick s Day celebrations planned for Cahir

Tipp FM Text 083 311 3311 Photo © Tipp FM With the Covid-19 pandemic once again putting paid to our traditional St Patrick’s Day Parades, Cahir is one of many towns which are planning to hold a virtual celebration. A combination of drone footage of the historic town will be combined with videos of previous parades to bring a taste of our national day. Local Councillor Andy Moloney says the 25 minute video will showcase Cahir and it’s many attractions as well as the annual St Patrick’s Day festivities. “We’ve acquired the services of Brendan Kerins in Cahir who has years of video footage – so he has taken some of the previous parades over a number of years and added some drone footage of the town.”

Tipperary walking routs to be enhanced

Tipp FM Text 083 311 3311 The money under the Outdoor Recreation Infrastructure Scheme amounts to almost €282,000. The scheme provides funding for the development, promotion and maintenance of outdoor amenities such as walkways, trails cycleways, and blueways. €200,000 is to be spent on the Suir Blueway in Cahir while €81,900 has been allocated for the Ormond Way between Lorrha and Portumna. Cahir Councillor Andy Moloney says the Cahir works will improve the already popular walk to the Swiss Cottage. “This extra funding will be very welcome to extend the Swiss walk from the gates to the Swiss Cottage Bridge and hopefully beyond it a small bit.”
