(WHBL) – It could have turned out worse for the driver, and it probably was worse for any life in a pond in Manitowoc County where a tanker trailer containing manure overturned, spilling some of the contents and diesel fuel into the water.
Manitowoc County Sheriff Dan Hartwig reports that shortly after 8:30 on Tuesday morning a 39-year-old Manitowoc man traveling east on Highway 10 attempted to turn northbound onto County Highway “T” when the tractor/trailer entered the northeast ditch and overturned.
The amount of manure and diesel spilled isn’t known, and Highway “T” was closed for around 4 hours while agencies including the Wisconsin DNR, several fire departments and first responder units, along with B&M Waste Services cleaned up the mess.
