FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – One man is facing charges following a deadly weekend shooting in Florence County.
According to information from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, 22-year-old Jaylin Tyhon Zeandre Thompkins, of Johnsonville, was arrested May 2 and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.
Bond has not been set, jail records state.
Authorities with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office and the Johnsonville Police Department were called to the 200 block of East Pine Street in Johnsonville on Sunday.

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - The Florence County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who was found in a wooded area on Sunday.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken said 50-year-old Mary Brown of Timmonsville was found inside a vehicle.
Maj. Mike Nunn with the Florence County Sheriff’s Office added that the body was discovered near East Old Marion Highway and Ashby Road.
The coroner said Brown’s body will be autopsied Wednesday morning at MUSC in Charleston in order to find out exactly how she died.

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – The victims of a deadly double shooting in Florence County have been identified.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken said Malik Askins, 24, of Timmonsville, and Lydia Thompson, 18, of Florence, died in the incident.
Autopsies have been scheduled for Thursday morning at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, von Lutcken added.
The incident remains under investigation by the Florence County Sheriff’s Office and Florence County Coroner’s Office.

FLORENCE, S.C. (WMBF) - Authorities are investigating following a fatal shooting in the Pee Dee.
Capt. Mike Brandt with the Florence Police Department said officers were called to the 700 blocks of Carver Street at around 9 p.m. Saturday. Brandt said responding officers located a victim deceased in the roadway.
Florence County Coroner Keith von Lutcken later identified the victim as 17-year-old Tharon Orlando Jackson II, of Florence. An autopsy has been scheduled at MUSC, according to von Lutcken.

FLORENCE COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) – One person is in custody in connection with the shooting death of a man in Florence County on Wednesday, authorities said.
According to information from the Florence County Sheriff’s Office, 24-year-old Raeshawn Shaquille Lawson, of Florence, has been charged with involuntary manslaughter. He is being held at the Florence County Detention Center pending a bond hearing.
Investigators said that Lawson, while a passenger in a vehicle in the 400 block of West Palmetto Street, pointed a gun in the direction of the victim when the weapon discharged unintentionally.
