The Delaware County Cattlemen served carloads of residents at their annual Beef Banquet Saturday night.
The Beef Banquet was held drive-through style this year due to COVID, with steak dinners offered to-go at the Delaware County Fairgrounds in Manchester.
The Cattlemen say they served just over 1,000 steak dinners in three and a half hours. Around sixty people helped make this event a success by directing traffic, taking tickets, grilling steaks, preparing food, filling to-go containers and handing out food.
And new beef royalty was crowned before the banquet with a limited number of spectators on hand. Lexi Krogmann of Dundee was crowned the 2021 Delaware County Beef Queen, while Olivia Hilby was crowned Delaware County Beef Princess. On June 8th, the City of Chelsea swore in a new City Clerk, Lonika Utterback. Ms. Utterback is taking over duties from former City Clerk, Kathy Werner. Mrs. Werner served as part-time City Clerk and Library Director since May 2018, until resigning from the Library Director position in September .
