Construction snarls Coldwater traffic
The Daily Reporter
Coldwater is finding long lines of traffic on streets as summer road work hit much of the city.
Rain delayed some road construction in June, Coldwater Manager Keith Baker told the city council Monday night.
Then he was surprised Monday when construction crews arrived to begin work on U.S. 12 without notice. The first two days of work carved out the intersection for re-paving.
“They will begin working on the long runs through the town in the ensuing weeks,” Baker said. “US 12 is down to a single lane in each direction. That will be the case of several weeks until the project is completed. The contract is set to end by Sept. 10. City staff recommends anyone traveling on the road add time to travel plans.
