EUGENE, Ore. Fewer people died on Lane County roads last year, but the pandemic is making it harder to know if progress is truly being made.
For first time in several years, Lane County was not in the top three counties with the most traffic fatalities. In 2020, 32 people died on county roads compared to 44 in 2019. But because of the pandemic, overall traffic was also down by 15 percent.
