Nandigram: Mamata Banerjee Remains in Booth For 2 Hours Amidst Plaints of BJP Barring Voters
TMC has allegedly lodged 63 complaints with the EC, which the Bengal CM alleges the Commission has ignored.

Kolkata: Nandigram’s Boyal witnessed high drama as West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee remained inside a voting booth for two hours amidst complaints that Bharatiya Janata Party workers were not allowing voting to take place there.
At around 3.45 pm, she was helped out by police and Central forces. Reporters, security forces and bystanders swarmed the rural school, resulting in scenes of unprecedented poll-day drama in such a rural setting.
Bengal, Assam record high voter turnout, Mamata s fate sealed
New Delhi, Apr 1 (UNI) Both West Bengal and Assam registered high voter turnout in the second phase of voting for Assembly elections on Thursday with 80.43 and 73.06 per cent polling recorded till 1800 hrs.
Of the 30 constituencies that went to polls today, included the high-profile Nandigram constituency of Purba Medinipur from where Trinamool chief and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is fighting the elections. To counter the TMC in its bastion, the saffron party has pitted Mamata s colleague-turned-rival Suvendu Adhikari, who had joined the Bharatiya Janata Party before the elections.
However, the voting was marred with sporadic violence in Bengal where nine seats of Paschim Medinipur, eight in Bankura, four seats in South 24 Parganas and nine seats in Purba Medinipur, totaling 30 seats, went for the polls.
