There are three candidates for the Ward 2 seat on the Lansing City Council.
Incumbent Jeremy Garza is running against political newcomers Oprah Revish and Nicklas Zande to represent the city s southeast side.

Revish is an import from California who came here to work for Michigan State University. She has lived many other places but says Lansing was the first city that felt like home to her.
Tecumseh schools to fill board vacancy June 3

TECUMSEH The Tecumseh school board will have a special meeting 6 p.m. June 3 at Tecumseh High School to fill the seat left open by the resignation of Treasurer John Benzing last week.
Benzing cited decreased availability due to work issues and the changing composition of the board as the reasons for his resignation.
The board will first interview candidates and then choose one among the candidates to serve.
So far, there is a pool of three candidates, two of which have a great deal of familiarity with the board Joshua Mattison, who was once the director of facilities and maintenance for Tecumseh Public Schools, and Mary Tommelein, who worked as a teacher and counselor for 39 years, mostly at Tecumseh Public Schools. Chris Peoples is new to showing interest in serving on the board and is the associate pastor at Faith Baptist Church in Adrian as well as a teacher assistant and long-term substitute te

The talk is being organized by the Washtenaw Economic Club and will cover a variety of topics, including self-driving cars and the shift towards electric vehicles.
Washtenaw Economic Club event organizer Loren Townes says the technology has become especially important for Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan.
“Since we’ve become an epicenter for research and development, we have to make sure our transportation infrastructure is working together,” Townes says.
