Early Release Times Set At Hillsboro ISD The last day of school at Hillsboro Independent School District is Wednesday, May 26, and an early release schedule has been set. Release times Wednesday will be as follows: Franklin Elementary School - 12:30 p.m.; Hillsboro Elementary School - 12:35 p.m.; Hillsboro Intermediate School - 12:40 p.m.; Hillsboro Junior High School - 12:40 p.m.; Hillsboro High School - 12:40 p.m. Graduation for Hillsboro s Class of 2021 will be held at Eagle Field beginning at 8 p.m. Friday.

Graduation Ceremonies Planned For Class Of 2021 Graduates throughout the area will be recognized for their achievements and wrap up high school with commencement ceremonies beginning Friday, May 21. Five local high schools will present diplomas to the Class of 2021 this week, with others to follow next week. Graduation for Bynum seniors will begin at 7 p.m. Friday at Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro. Blum s graduation will start at 7 p.m. Friday on the football field, although it may be moved indoors in the event of rain. Covington students will graduate Friday in the high school gym beginning at 7:30 p.m., Penelope s graduation will begin at 7 p.m. in the high school gymnasium, and Mount Calm seniors will graduate on the football field at 7 p.m.

HISD Board Hears Updates On New School Construction The Hillsboro Independent School District (HISD) Board of Trustees met in regular session Monday, May 10, and heard updates on the new elementary school campus. With 57 percent of the campus reported to be complete, Executive Director of Operations Raymond Nors said that the construction project is now primarily in the finishing stages. Nors added that there is an extensive amount of finishing work that needs to be done. He also said that the utility meter has been installed and the campus is now on permanent power. The budget for the project is $29,355,180 with $16,786,122 being completed or stored to date.

Joan Of Arc dominated the Irish 1,000 Guineas Trial at Leopardstown.
The 11-4 favourite, ridden by Ryan Moore, was in front after a furlong and stayed there without ever having to come under strong pressure.
Joan Of Arc was restating her case for a clutch of high-profile entries in top races over the coming months, having failed to build on her Curragh maiden victory when only sixth in a similar trial over seven furlongs here last month.
Eagle is Creating a Field of Honor for Memorial Day
A field in Eagle will be transformed into a military tribute for two weeks in May, and now is the time to stake out your spot by sponsoring a flag.
The City of Eagle is not letting Memorial Day pass without really giving it the spotlight. Instead of taking one day in May to honor military veterans, they ll take two weeks, and instead of flying one flag, they ll fly hundreds. This will be an impressive sight!
They re planning to hold the 15th annual Field of Honor May 22- June 1 at Reid Merrill Park in Eagle and put up hundreds of full-size American Flags on 8-foot poles in perfect formation. The city says on its website that it will be a stunning visual tribute to the brave men and women of our military past and present. The flags will start flying on Armed Forces Day and continue through the Memorial Day holiday.
