The politics over local bodies in Karachi and the ‘efficiency’ of the KWSB has put the people of the city into jeopardy: not double but a triple one.
First, there is no local LB representative to turn up to, the fecal contamination of potable water is putting their lives at stake and then the KWSB needs money from the residents to fix the problem.
This situation is being confronted by the community living in Fed B Area Block 15, Jamal Manzil, where the fecal contamination through old and leaking water and sewerage pipes has put the community living in nearly 200 houses on the spot.

HONOLULU, Hawaii (HawaiiNewsNow) - Heavy rains caused roughly 5,000 gallons of untreated wastewater to overflow in East Honolulu Wednesday night.
The sewage overflow was caused by a pump station error at a manhole on Kalanianaole Highway.
The Department of Environmental Services recovered 500 gallons of sewage, but the remaining 4,500 gallons entered a nearby stream.
ENV responded to the sanitary sewer overflow at around 8:15 p.m. and stopped the overflow at 8:50 p.m.

BOONVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) - Water bills are slated to go up in Boonville.
On Wednesday night, the Boonville City Council decided the new base rate for sewer, water and fire protection will be $77.28. This rate is an increase of $20.17 per month.
City Council members say they weighed all factors before moving forward with the rate increase, stating it’s their duty to provide safe drinking water and a working sanitary sewer system.

FAISALABAD: Wasa Managing Director Jabbar Anwar Chaudhry Wednesday said mega projects worth Rs 55 billion were underway to provide clean drinking water and sewerage facilities to citizens of Faisalabad.
Addressing a function organized by All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association and Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce in honour of Wasa officers, the Wasa MD said all these projects would be completed in three years and the state of the city would be changed.
He said industrial community is the pride of the city and their problems will be addressed on a priority basis.
He said a 44 million gallon wastewater treatment plant worth Rs 19 billion with the support of the Danish government, a French water supply project worth Rs 16 billion Phase II to provide 30 million gallons of drinking water daily would be established.
