The Muncipality of Tweed has provided an update in regards to the 28-day lockdown that will start in the region on Boxing Day.
Mayor Jo-Anne Albert declared a State of Emergency on Monday, ahead of Premier Doug Ford’s announcement which was made on Tuesday.
Albert joins other local officials in urging people to stay home as much as possible, and limit travel to only essential trips.
Staff with the municipality will not be welcoming visitors to their administrative office during the lockdown. There will be two employees available to answer phone calls and e-mails. Those wishing to make payments, can still deposit a cheque at the front door, or do an e-transfer.
