Dozens of mainly-retired police officers were among a large crowd at Thursday s funeral for former Hawke s Bay detective Rick Graham.
Serving for many years as a Detective Sergeant, preferring not to chase to the command rank of Detective Senior Sergeant, he received the Queen s Service Medal (QSM) in 1997 for service to the New Zealand Police, four years before retiring and starting a new career as a diving instructor.
Dyfed-Powys Police is investigating the incident, which took place on the evening of Friday, December 4. Among the Cocker Spaniels taken was a three-year-old black female which had recently given birth to five puppies - three black and two black and white. They were stolen from an outbuilding of a farm in the Upper Tumble area. Officers are now appealing for information after a vehicle, believed to have been used in the burglary, was seized by South Wales Police after it was found in Penllergaer Woods. Anyone with any information or who saw a silver S-Type Jaguar, which is suspected to have contained two male occupants, in the Tumble area between 7.40pm and 8pm on 4 December.
