Volvo’s slew of 2021 model year updates are being rolled out across the Malaysian range – following the introduction of the revised XC90 earlier this month and the launch of the facelifted S90 just last week, it’s now time for the smaller XC60 to get its tweaks. No, this isn’t the facelifted model that was shown globally last month, but there are still plenty of detail changes for us to take a look at.
As per the XC90 and S90, the biggest of these changes concerns the number of variants, which has been trimmed to just two. There’s no more mid-spec T8 AWD Inscription plug-in hybrid model, but the base petrol-powered T5 AWD Momentum continues to feature, priced at

After some teasing, Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has officially launched the new S90 facelift, which continues to be locally assembled (CKD) in Shah Alam. The refreshed executive sedan is being offered in two variants, including the base T5 Momentum and the plug-in hybrid Recharge T8 Inscription Plus.
For now, VCM can only confirm pricing for the latter, which goes for
RM339,315 on-the-road without insurance, which is nearly RM30k less than before. The amount factors in the ongoing sales tax exemption (100% in this case) and includes a five-year, unlimited-mileage manufacturer warranty as well as an eight-year, 160,000 km warranty on the PHEV battery.

Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has officially teased the facelifted S90 on its social media pages, confirming that the refreshed executive sedan will be launched soon. It’s taken quite a while for the car to arrive, having been revealed to the world back in February 2020 – it’s already been on sale in Thailand since December, and in Malaysian-assembled form too.
Still, better late than never, and while no details have been revealed just yet, the S90 should at least retain its current attractive pricing. The outgoing model retailed at RM319,630 for the T5 Momentum, RM349,670 for the T8 Twin Engine AWD Inscription and RM368,920 for the Inscription Plus.

Volvo Car Malaysia (VCM) has confirmed pricing for the XC90 for the 2021 model year. The large three-row SUV comes with several small equipment upgrades for slight increase in cost.
The range now starts at
RM352,472 for the base T5 Momentum and rises to
RM393,743 for the top-spec T8 Inscription Plus plug-in hybrid, which now ditches the Twin Engine branding in favour of Recharge branding – just like the recently-introduced XC40 Recharge T5. These prices represent a hike of RM1,662 and RM2,593 respectively over the previous 2019 model.
As previously reported, the mid-range Inscription model has been dropped from the lineup. The listed figures include the sales and services tax (SST) exemption valid until June 30, after which the prices will jump to RM373,888 for the T5 Momentum and RM413,888 for the Recharge T8 Inscription Plus. All models come with a five-year, unlimited-mileage warranty
Having received a facelift in November 2019, the Malaysian-market Volvo XC90 has been given a mild model year update with several small changes to the equipment list. The biggest news is that the mid-range T8 […]
