Mike Kilbride received the UK Leadership Award in recognition of significant achievements in leading Birkenhead Sixth Form College on a complete journey of transformation, not least being rated as outstanding in all areas by Ofsted. The college has been shortlisted once again for the UK Sixth Form College of the Year by TES Awards, formerly the Times Education Supplement.

The winner of the University Entrepreneurs Grant, as chosen by Dr Jacob Salder and Phil Hodari, has been revealed this morning (March 4th).
As reported yesterday, the winner was revealed on Heart Yorkshire, Smooth North West and Smooth North East, three Northern radio stations run by Communicorp UK.
The University Entrepreneurs Grant is part of the Educate North Awards, the regional awards ceremony for FE and HE institutions which recently moved virtual, and now takes place on Thursday 22nd April 2021. The finalists, announced yesterday, were the University of York s Nihad Cehic, University of Chester s Jade Rice, and two from the University of Manchester - Dr Mohammad El Hajj and Riddi Viswanathan.

The Educate North Awards are set to go virtual on April 22nd, celebrating the region’s university and higher education, FE and Sixth Form sectors and their talent.
Originally postponed to March 3rd 2021, they were formerly planned for April 2020 and will now take place online, giving attendees the chance to recognise success in their industry and celebrate their peers.
The ceremony will take place at 7:30pm on April 22nd, so attendees can join from wherever they’re based. See the shortlist here.
The Educate North Awards are organised by Carm Productions in conjunction with partners John Kennedy CBE, CCL Digital, the Masood Enterprise Centre, The Pilot Group, Communicorp UK, Heart Yorkshire, Smooth North West and Smooth North East.
