Fargo Force name Scott Langer Head Coach

Fargo, ND, USA / 740 The FAN Jul 28, 2021 | 7:11 PM FARGO, ND – Scott Langer has officially been named the new Head Coach of the Fargo Force. Along with him, Langer brings the Force’s newest Assistant Coach, Michael Hill. The duo comes to Fargo from the Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL and have coached together there for the past 3 years. In their time together in Aberdeen the pair put up three winning seasons and some impressive accolades: Central Division Champions (x2), Central Division Playoff Champions (X2), Regular Season Champions, Robertson Cup Finalists, and even the biggest award in the NAHL, Robertson Cup Champions (2018-19). During the 2020-21 season Langer and Hill set the Aberdeen Wings all time win record with 51 wins and only 4 losses.

(Fargo, ND)  Fresh off a Western Conference Championship season, the Fargo Force will have a new look behind the bench next year. The team announced today that Head Coach Pierre-Paul Lamoureux and Associate Head Coach Chad Demers will not be returning to coach the Force for the 21-22 season. Lamoureux is pursuing many opportunities in and out of hockey, while Demers is taking a position with his alma mater, the Air Force Academy. “Obviously we are disappointed to be losing two great coaches that have done an outstanding job for us” said Force General Manager, Cary Eades. “However, the USHL is a developmental league, not only for players, but for coaches as well. All you have to do is look at the 2-time defending Stanley Cup Champions – the Tampa Bay Lightning – who’s Head Coach Jon Cooper and Assistant Coach Derek Lalonde both coached in the USHL prior to moving on to pro hockey, to see what kind of coaching talent is being developed in this very competitive league.
