An employee of the DeKalb Jackson Water District is charged for identity theft and using other people s credit cards.
Jessica Kay Hosch, 33, of Rainsville was arrested on Monday. She was an employee of the water board in Ider.
According to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, she would obtain the credit or debit card numbers when customers would pay their bills and then use them to make online purchases. It says two of the victims live in DeKalb County.

A DeKalb Jackson Water District employee has been charged with credit card fraud and identity theft.
DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said Jessica Kay Hosch, 33, of Rainsville, faces three counts of fraudulent use of a credit/debit card and three counts of identity theft.
Investigators say Hosch, while working at the office in Ider, took credit or debit card numbers when customers paid their bills and used them to make online purchases. At least two of the victims live in DeKalb County, Welden said. More charges are possible.

According to the DeKalb County Sheriffâs Office, Hosch obtained the credit or debit card numbers when customers would pay their bill and then use them to make online purchases. During the investigation, the sheriffâs office found two victims of her crime that live in DeKalb County. This investigation is ongoing as more charges are possible.
âWe are asking all customers of the DeKalb Jackson Water District to check their bank statements and if you find any fraudulent charges, please call the DeKalb County Sheriffâs Office at 256-845-3801,â according to a statement released Tuesday.
