40 arrested in DeKalb County warrant roundup

Forty people were arrested Monday then multiple law enforcement agencies conducted a warrant roundup, according to the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office said 75 warrants were served, and there were 32 new charges.
DeKalb County Narcotics and Interdiction Unit, ALEA Region F Task Force, DeKalb County Sheriff’s Deputies, Investigations Unit, Reserve Unit, Air Unit, Jail and Transport, and Collinsville, Fort Payne and Sylvania police departments took part in the roundup.

Most of us use social media to keep in touch with family and friends, to complain about things or just to share funny memes. However, one local man used his to advertise his bad choices and landed himself in jail.
Last Sunday, agents with the DeKalb County Narcotics Unit received tips about a video on SnapChat of an individual flashing marijuana, guns and money. Agents quickly responded and a search warrant was obtained. DeKalb County Narcotics agents, along with DeKalb County Sheriffâs deputies and Sylvania police officers conducted the search resulting in the arrest of Cody Lance McIntosh, 22, of Sylvania.
In a nine-day period, DeKalb County Narcotics Unit and local law enforcement arrested 27 on drug charges.
On Monday, Feb. 1, DeKalb County Narcotics agents conducted a traffic stop on Gault Ave S in Fort Payne. During the stop, marijuana was found. Briana Marie Engeron, 20, of Crossville, and Thomas Wesley Harris, 25, of Crossville, were charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Also, on Monday Feb. 1, DeKalb County Narcotics agents encountered a suspicious male subject in a parking lot on Glenn Blvd SW in Fort Payne. Upon talking to and further investigation, they discovered Robert Harry Farris, 50, of Gayllesville, to be in possession of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Farris was charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance.
