Thuso Mbedu takes the spotlight in the first official
trailer for the Amazon limited series,
The Underground Railroad.
Directed by Academy Award-winner Barry Jenkins, it is based
on the novel of the same name by Colson Whitehead.
The story follows Cora Randall s (Mbedu) desperate fight for
freedom in the antebellum South. After escaping a Georgia plantation for the
rumoured Underground Railroad, Cora discovers an actual railroad beneath the
Southern soil.
