PHOTO PROVIDED John and Marty Kendall met and fell in love at a party in Marshall, Michigan. “We both had our practices,” said Marty. “He was a lawyer and I was a psychologist. We knew we wanted to retire to Florida and we knew we wanted warm weather, so we took a western route down the coast and found Pine Island.” John recalls telling a friend one night at dinner that he and Marty wanted to retire early and find a new home in Florida.
