CLOVERDALE A Van Wert woman was killed in a single-car crash on Ohio 694 near Cloverdale in Putnam County on Monday.
According to the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Dawn Luke, 48, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred at approximately 12:54 p.m. Monday. Her body was taken to Love-Heitmeyer Funeral Home.
Investigating troopers reported that Luke was a rear-seat passenger in a 2006 Chrysler PT Cruiser driven west on SR 694 by Bonnie Luke, 69, of Mendon. The vehicle veered off the right side of the highway, came back across the road, and veered off the left side of the road, where it overturned and struck a utility pole.
Pickup truck hits home in Kalida
KALIDA The Kalida Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle crash that occurred at 11:49 a.m. Monday at 417 W. Main St., Kalida.
According to a news release, a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Derrick Conn, 50, of Columbus Grove, was westbound when he crossed over into the eastbound lane, hit a power pole and then the house at 417 W. Main St., Kalida.
No one was at home at the time of the crash, and Conn was transported from the scene by Kalida E.M.S. for treatment of possible injuries.

One hurt in industrial accident at Kalida Manufacturing
KALIDA Little information was available Wednesday night concerning an industrial accident in Putnam County.
According to a news release from the Village of Kalida’s Police Department, at 10:51 a.m. Wednesday there was an industrial accident reported at Kalida Manufacturing Incorporated. An unidentified man who was employed at the business was injured, but no other details were released.
Responding to the scene was Kalida EMS, Kalida Fire Department, Putnam County EMS, Putnam County Sheriff’s Office and the Kalida Police Department.
KMI officials were not available for comment Wednesday night.
