Barbados to open new diplomatic offices in Kenya, Ghana and UAE

Barbados will open new diplomatic offices in Kenya, Ghana and United Arab Emirates, while at the same time extending its diplomatic mission in Asia.
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade and Chair of the Cabinet Sub-Committee on COVID-19 Senator Dr Jerome Walcott, today announced that former Member of Parliament Gline Clarke will assume the position of High Commissioner to Canada, while businessman Alexander McDonald will take up the post as High Commissioner to the Republic of Kenya and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office at Nairobi.
There were a number of matters on the agenda including the election of a new Assistant Secretary.
Following a vote, Ed Byrne of Killybegs was elected into the position, defeating Aodh Ruadh s David McLoone .
There were other positions filled too, Charlie Kerr of the Termon club is the new Development Officer replacing David McLoone who has completed his five years in the term.
Catriona Sweeney of Burt is the new Cultural Officer, replacing Fergus McGee who has also completed his five years.
Dareen McMenamin of MacCumhaills will be the new Children s Officer.
And three new positions have been filled on the Competitions Controls Committee, representing Junior clubs will be Packie McDyer - Na Rossa, Andy Doherty - Red Hughs will be the Intermediate clubs representative and Sean McGinley - Kilcar will be the Senior clubs representative.
