The city Department of Education (DOE) made the announcement on Monday that all district school buildings are closed Tuesday, and Learning Bridges and after-school programs are all cancelled due to the severe weather conditions. All food distribution sites will also be closed, but DOE central and field offices will remain open.
Regardless of how many flakes fall this winter, public school students won’t be receiving any snow days and that’s because students and teachers can participate in school remotely.
The DOE announced Sunday that school buildings would be closed Monday, with remote learning continuing for most students. As previously planned, staff in grades six to 12 and nine to 12 had a professional development day on Monday. Therefore, students in six to 12 and nine to 12 school buildings had a non-instructional day on Monday.
