Tracey Bennett aka The Reckless Foodie is a plant-based wholefood chef who, together with her husband Jason Shon Bennett, runs wellness and fasting retreats. The retreats aim to reset attendees health and wellbeing, with three days of time-out out from normal life with like- minded others. They have at least nine planned for 2021, spanning the country. Tracey also teaches plant-based cooking classes in her home kitchen in west Auckland and does plant-based catering for special events and gatherings. Plus, she has a first cookbook imminent. She takes time out of her schedule to let Be Well take a sneak peek into her pantry.

Sir Ian Taylor s new project that teaches kids about Polynesian voyagers migration across the Pacific Ocean thousands of years ago is personal.
The 2019 Innovator of the Year and founder of Animation Research, the company behind America s Cup graphics, was near 70 years old when he heard his ancestors story. My ancestors were part of the greatest human adventure story of all time, and I d never heard it before, he said.
He learnt about the migration journeys of his Pākehā ancestors at school in Raupunga, but he was never taught about the journeys of his other tūpuna, his Polynesian ancestors.

Food insecurity continues to be a big issue during the pandemic. More than 23 million households sometimes or often didn t have enough to eat during part of January, according to the latest numbers from a U.S. Census Bureau survey.
Compare that to before the pandemic. Nearly 14 million households experienced food insecurity at some point in 2019, according to data from the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
A faith-based nonprofit in Texas has come up with a unique way to help that has taken off in part because of the pandemic, and the idea is now getting interest from around the world.

(CNN) â Lego wants to teach kids about online empathy with an interactive quiz on its website.
In the quiz, a new Lego hero named Captain Safety teams up with four other heroes to show children how to be more supportive of each other.
They have kids answer questions about situations meant to make them aware of other peopleâs feelings, needs and concerns on the internet.
