Imagine Iowa Great Lakes Reveals Latest Beautification Project

Arnolds Park, IA (KICD) The Imagine Iowa Great Lakes group has selected their next beautification project. Arnolds Park Mayor Jim Hussong says it will be the section Lake Street that runs from the Roof Garden ballroom to the Bedell State Pier.
Hussong says the area is already a psuedo-pedestrian mall, and the city and park will continue moving in that direction.
The City of Arnolds Park and Imagine Great Lakes are working out which group will pay for which portions of the project. Construction is to start after Labor Day for minimal impact on the tourist season.
City of Arnolds Park Gives Approval to Move Forward with Artistic Crosswalks

Arnolds Park, IA (KICD)– A couple of crosswalks in Arnolds Park will be undergoing a make over just in time for the tourist season to kick off.
Michele Goodenow from Imagine Iowa Great Lakes tells KICD News an artist is being brought in to beautify two crossings on one of the main streets through town.
Goodenow says the hope is to turn this into a community project as well.
Work is expected to begin on the murals in May which means the affected intersections will be closed to traffic to allow all of the paint and other material to properly set up and give the works the longest life span possible.
