Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], April 19 (ANI): Karnataka Home Minister Basavaraja Bommai on Monday said that he had a meeting with Kodihalli Chandrashekar, (who is leading Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) employees strike) and have asked him to withdraw the strike and return to work. Kodihalli Chandrashekar, (who is leading KSRTC employees strike) came to meet me to discuss some other issue, at the same time I have given a clear picture about the present situation of state as for as financial issues are concerned. I have also told him to withdraw the strike and return to work, said Karnataka Home Minister.

Manjeshwar, Apr 19: A 26-year-old man lost his life after a speeding bus knocked his motorbike down at Hosangadi Pete near Manjeshwar last night.
The deceased has been identified as Shashidhar, a resident of Paivalike Beedubail.
While the bus belonging to Kerala State Road Corporation was plying from Mangaluru to Kasaragod, the motorbike was too heading to Kasaragod from Talapady.
It is said that the bus hit the motorbike from behind while trying to overtake another vehicle. The intensity was such that the rider died on the spot.
KSRTC dismisses 13 trainee employees

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has dismissed 13 trainee employees of Chikkamagaluru division for taking part in the strike. They include three trainee driver-cum-conductors, seven trainee-technical assistants, and three artisans.
The Divisional Controller of Chikkamagaluru issued the orders on instructions from the head office. The decision was taken as the trainee employees did not report for duty even after repeated calls, notices and paper notification. Of the total 114 trainee staff members in the division, these 13had not returned to duty. The Chikkamagaluru division operated 140 buses on the day.
