Karnataka govt appoints 5 cabinet ministers for Covid-19 management

As COVID-19 cases continue to rise dangerously in Karnataka, five cabinet ministers have been appointed by Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa to manage the pandemic in the state. While Industries Minister Jagadish Shettar will manage oxygen supply, Deputy Chief Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan will be in charge of Remdesivir, other COVID-related drugs and human resource management. Home minister Basavaraj Bommai and Revenue minister R Ashok have been given charge of bed availability and bed-related issues in medical colleges, private and government hospitals. Minister of Forest Department Arvind Limbavali has been given the responsibility of in-charge of the COVID-19 war room call centre and management of treatment to patients in proper time.

Karnataka CM discharged from hospital after recovering from coronavirus

Yediyurappa was on Thursday discharged from the private hospital here where he was undergoing treatment for COVID-19. He was discharged from the city s Manipal hospital, where he has been undergoing treatment for the last five days, his office said. The 78-year old leader was hospitalised on April 16, after he tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time in eight months. He was earlier hospitalised on August 2, 2020 after he tested positive for coronavirus, and was discharged on recovery after nine days. Yediyurappa had got himself inoculated with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccine on March 12, and was administered Bharat Biotech s Covaxin.

Karnataka CM, in hospital for Covid treatment, is stable and recovering

Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa who is undergoing treatment for coronavirus at a private hospital is now stable and recovering, his office said on Sunday. The Chief Minister who was admitted in a hospital on Friday for COVID treatment is being monitored by a team of expert doctors. The health of the Chief Minister is stable and he is recovering, the office of the Chief Minister tweeted on Sunday. Yediyurappa is spending his time in the hospital reading his favourite books and is in touch with officials to give them necessary directions, the tweet further said. The Chief Minister had fever on Friday and when he got himself tested, the report came positive for coronavirus.

No question of imposing lockdown in Karnataka, says CM B S Yediyurappa

Amid the rising number of COVID-19 cases, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Tuesday said that there is no question of imposing lockdown right now while urging the people to adhere to COVID appropriate behaviour. The chief minister also called an all-party meeting on April 18 to discuss the COVID situation in the state. I have called an all-party meeting on April 18 regarding the COVID situation here. There is no question of lockdown right now. The technical advisory committee has suggested that positive cases will increase here till May 2.
