Fire displaces Arcanum woman

Arcanum Fire and Rescue responded along with mutual aid from the Pitsburg Fire Department and Arcanum Police to a house fire at the 100 block of Sierra Drive, Arcanum, Thursday afternoon.

ARCANUM A Thursday afternoon kitchen fire has left an elderly Arcanum woman temporarily displaced due to damage which occurred within the home.
At approximately 5:38 p.m., emergency personnel from Arcanum Fire and Rescue responded along with mutual aid from the Pitsburg Fire Department and the Arcanum Police Department to the 100 block of Sierra Lane, in reference to a possible kitchen fire.
Abbottsville and Ithaca Cemeteries to hold Memorial Day Services

Van Buren Township Memorial Services will be held at the Abbottsville Cemetery on May 30, 2021, at 1 p.m. with the Greenville H.S.-NJROTC members and the Arcanum High School band members performing the services. The address will be presented by Larry Harter, member of Pitsburg Trinity Lutheran Church.
Later that afternoon, Twin Township Memorial Services will be held at the Ithaca Cemetery on May 30, 2021, at 2 p.m. also with the Greenville H.S.-NJROTC members and the Arcanum High School band members performing the services and an address by Larry Harter

Arcanum Village Council met Tuesday evening to discuss grant funds, and to hear the first-quarter report from Fire Chief Kurt Troutwine.

ARCANUM Arcanum Village Council met Tuesday evening to discuss grants, the hiring of a new police officer, and the first-quarter fire department report. All council members were present.
Tammy Bruner informed council that the Arcanum Preservation Society has its next meeting on April 21 to discuss further developments with the old city building. Bruner noted that the group needs paperwork signed to move ahead with plans.
