North Yorkshire Police have asked people in Ireland to help them find relatives of an elderly man who died in Scarborough.
Simon Curtis Smith, who passed away at his home on January 2, is believed to have Irish connections but authorities have been so far unsuccessful in finding his next of kin.
They are appealing for anyone who might know the man to come forward.
A North Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “Our coroner s officers are appealing to people in Ireland as they continue their search to find the next of kin of Simon Curtis Smith who died at his home address in Scarborough aged 70.

Suspects arrested in connection to Apple Valley man s 2018 murder

Authorities have arrested two men wanted for the murder of 22-year-old Curtis Smith, who was shot to death during a robbery in Apple Valley in 2018.
Booking records show Alexander Simmons, 27, and Treavion Jamar Early, 20, were picked up by local authorities at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas on Dec. 17. Simmons appeared in a Victorville courtroom for a video arraignment on Dec. 18, and pleaded not guilty to seven felony counts, including murder, first-degree robbery and first-degree burglary.
Simmons had a public defender appointed and his bail was set at $1.85 million, court records show. He is due back in court Dec. 29.
