Man accused in 2013 killing of Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD employee arrested after fleeing to Mexico

CARROLLTON, Texas Authorities have arrested a suspect linked to the 2013 killing of a Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District maintenance supervisor.
Carrollton police said Gerardo Alvarez, 45, was captured in Mexico in October 2020 and was brought back to Texas on March 9. According to police, Alvarez fought extradition which had originally delayed his return to Carrollton until this week.

• Markeil T. Havens, 23, address unknown, is being sought on a warrant accusing him of violating probation on charges of domestic battery and two counts of burglary and failing to appear in court on a charge of driving while license is suspended . He also has an unspecified Pike County warrant.
He is a Black male standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 174 pounds. He has black hair and hazel eyes.
