During the meeting of the Carrollton Town Council on Monday, January 4, the council approved the budget for Carrollton Municipal Utilities.
In other news, there still is time for town residents to file to run for Town Council seats.
According to a city spokesperson, Mayor Scott Bartlett, Ward 2 Councilperson Susie Bliss and the vacant seat in Ward 4 are up for election. Ward 4’s seat currently is vacant because Everett Shields was elected to the county commission in November.
Residents can file to run for the positions during regular business hours at city hall through 5 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19. The Municipal Election is scheduled to be held on Tuesday, April 6.
