A Lanarkshire-based gin producer is looking to move into larger premises after mapping out expansion plans for its start-up brand. Launched in October 2018, Ellis Gin offers a range of premium gins and ready-to-drink cocktails that includes four premium gins, two of which are colour-changing. The company aims to bring a bit of fun to the gin market with its collection mixed with carefully selected botanicals. Throughout lockdown, business owner Carol Jackson was focused on building the brand’s online presence in a bid to engage with customers. During this time, she built an e-commerce site, developed a series of gin tastings that were delivered via Zoom and launched the most recent spirit, Ellis No.5 ‘Lemon Gin.’

EastEnders viewers witnessed the arrival of Sonia Fowler s (Natalie Cassidy) long-lost father during Tuesday s episode.
ASHLAND The United Way of North East Kentucky, in partnership with the city of Ashland, will be installing a learning trail at the Carol Jackson Unity Center today.
The trail, set for a grand opening on May 22, will help parents get their children prepared before entering kindergarten, according to United Way of North East Kentucky executive director Jerri Compton.
At Thursdayâs city commission meeting, Compton told the commission the trail is part of push to help get children in the area up to snuff prior to entering kindergarten.
According to Kids Count Data, which assesses living conditions of children throughout the country, about 50% of children in the Kentucky Commonwealth enter kindergarten with the necessary âadaptive, cognitive, motor, communication and social-emotional skills.â

PARKERSBURG Those impacted by substance use disorder will now have better access to sustainable jobs thanks to $500,000 in funding from the Appalachian Regional Commission’s INSPIRE initiative.
For the next three years, the funds will be used to aid workforce development by putting those affected by substance abuse in contact with people who can help them re-enter the workplace.
“The impact of substance use disorders on the economy in the Mid-Ohio Valley region over the last decade has been huge. These funds can reverse that trend and get people back into the workforce,” said Carol Jackson, executive director of the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council, in a press release.
