Monday, 1st March 2021, 7:00 am The webinar will feature ideas and tips to help grow and develop the region’s towns and communities. The ‘Community Development: Hints, Tips and Funding’ webinar on Wednesday, March 3; 2.30-4pm will bring together key speakers from both national and local level to provide ideas and inspiration on how to ensure North-east towns and communities have the right tools, skills and knowledge to make their goals and visions become a reality.

New mental wellbeing programme in Watford to launch online

The programme offers help to those struggling with their mental wellbeing A new programme to help people struggling with their mental wellbeing due to the coronavirus pandemic will launch its first online session next week. A Slice of Happiness, working on behalf of the Watford & Three Rivers Trust (W3RT) which has been playing a key role in the area’s response to the pandemic, will start its first ‘Wellbeing Spa’ on Thursday for people who are experiencing emotions such as anxiety, stress, depression or grief. The six-week long programme is the first of its type in a community setting in the UK and is funded by the National Health Service.

The rallying call comes as the Medical Officer of Health outlines the procedure for eligible members of the community to begin receiving their vaccine at the Health Services Authority (HAS) from tomorrow, Friday, 8 January (see below for more details). Meanwhile, The Chief Medical Officer, Dr John Lee, also reported 199 test results today, of which three were positive, asymptomatic travellers.

For Local COVID-19 Heroes 01 January 2021, 08:58 AM Covid 19 His Excellency the Governor Martyn Roper today (Thursday 31 December 2020) announced the award of a further 26 Certificates and Badges of Honour for outstanding COVID-19 related work. Mr Roper said: ‘2020 has been a quite extraordinary year and so many people on our Islands have stepped up to support our community. When looking around the world at how the virus is raging, we are blessed indeed to be largely COVID-free apart from a small number of returning travellers, all in 14 days of isolation to manage any risk. I awarded a number of Certificates and Badges of Honour earlier this year. I am now pleased to make a number of New Year awards for the many people across our community who played a significant role in the battle against the virus. These awards focus on persons involved in healthcare, teaching and procurement of our
