Criterion to host live events this summer

In addition to producing the latest “View From ‘32” podcast episodes and livestreaming performances online, the 1932 Criterion Theatre management has also been gearing up to once again host guests inside the historic venue.
The theater, which underwent major renovations in 2014, has long been a draw for locals and visitors alike but during the last year, capacity restrictions and gathering limits have forced it to close.
As the nonprofit prepares to reopen, it has also been making user-friendly improvements to its online infrastructure. The Criterion website just had a major facelift, said Managing Director Taylor Valarik, who added that the organization has spent time remodeling the entire webpage for fans and donors to navigate more easily.

Out of the Blue Livestream Series with Ben Cosgrove is set for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23.
Cosgrove is a traveling composer, pianist, and multi-instrumentalist from New England. He travels constantly all over the country, performing a unique variety of original instrumental music that explores themes of landscape, geography, and environment and straddles a line between folk and classical music.
He has toured, recorded and collaborated with a long list of artists that includes The Ghost of Paul Revere, Max Garcia Conover, Joel Thetford, Caroline Cotter, Connor Garvey, and more, and he has served as artist-in-residence at institutions like Acadia National Park, White Mountain National Forest, the New England Trail, Isle Royale National Park, Harvard University, and the Schmidt Ocean Institute.
