Ablett Should Sign Over Weekend Saturday, 10th Jul 2010 09:45
Blues boss Roy Keane hopes new coach Gary Ablett will sign his contract over the weekend. Former Liverpool and Everton defender Ablett joined up with the Blues last week after Ian ‘Charlie’ McParland decided not to return to Portman Road for family reasons.
Keane said: “We hope something will be finalised over the next few days. Gary has come on board and we need extra numbers on the coaching side. Charlie McParland did a great job but because of family commitments he couldn’t commit to the club.
“I know Gary a little bit from [studying for] my Pro Licence and he worked with [fitness coach] Antonio Gomez at Liverpool.

I WAS so thrilled to finally catch up with the wonderful Barbara Windsor in 1988, when she came to the Cowes Corinthian Yacht Club for a J24 class sailing championship, in the company of fellow actor Gareth Hunt. Those were the days when you could approach the stars in person and not have to worry about agents, managements and minders. I was not surprised to find them both so approachable. Barbara was such wonderful company and quickly commented how relieved she was to find a journalist who wanted to talk about her career and not her private life.
