Brooke Algate and her children travelled in from Walkerston to enjoy some quality time together and shop for some improvements to their home. We actually went to Big W and I got some TVs on sale, Mrs Algate said. The COVID-19 pandemic has meant a few changes to the way we shop this Boxing Day.
But representatives from Mackay’s major shopping centres have assured us the same big bargains will be on offer.
Caneland Central centre manager Simon De Barro said retailers had reported strong sales in the lead-up to Christmas and were preparing for a bumper Boxing Day, despite the economic downturn.
“We’re expecting a very strong day similar to previous years,” Mr De Barro said.
