Jazz & Heritage Music Relief Fund app deadline | WWOZ New Orleans 90 7 FM

The purpose of this grant is to aid Louisiana Black masking culture bearers -specifically- Mardi Gras or Black Masking Indians, Babydolls and Northside Skull & Bones members who have lost a significant amount of income due to the shutdown of live events.  The grant is meant support those who have not found supplemental employment and continue to experience economic hardships.  Cultural Groups who applied for this fund in 2020 ARE allowed to apply for this new round of funding.  If you have received grant funds as a musician in 2021, you are NOT ELIGIBLE to receive grant funds. My New Orleans Apply by March 31 NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, the non-profit organization that owns the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell, announced today that it has reopened applications for the Jazz & Heritage Music Relief Fund – a statewide relief fund to support Louisiana’s music community who have lost income amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The collapse of the live music industry has affected not only musicians, but thousands of music industry workers and culture bearers who work alongside them. The pandemic has triggered a “domino effect” in the music sector with cancelled music events disrupting income for so many.
