British comedian Bill Bailey (
Patriot Brains coming to SBS VICELAND this year.
Due to film soon in New Zealand, the comedy panel show features teams of Kiwi and Australian comics who will battle over Trans-Tasman rivalry: Who has the best road movie? Who’s got the most confusing outdated law still in effect? And which country has the better Prime Minister?
“I am very much looking forward to hosting Patriot Brains, and a chance to referee a spirited international debate between two rival countries, which could end up as a right old ding-dong. A ding-dong which I hope to be thought-provoking, informative and hilarious,” he told stuff.co.nz.

Black Books, as a host of
Never Mind the Buzzcocks and, most recently, for winning the 2020 season of
Strictly Come Dancing, Bailey will begin his En Route to Normal tour in Wellington on March 13 and wrap in Hawke’s Bay on April 3. Production on
Patriot Games will take place before Bailey’s tour and the Australian comedians will travel to New Zealand in order to take part in person. A TVNZ spokesperson confirmed visas and MIQ stays have been confirmed for everyone travelling to New Zealand to take part in filming.
