Six Nations Elected Chief Mark Hill is putting allegations that he left the country on Friday evening to rest. “That’s absolutely absurd,” he said. Rumours that Hill was seen at the Toronto International Airport on Friday evening started circulating the Six Nations community shortly after Hill announced the Six Nations Elected Council administration buildings would shut down for two weeks because of the high number of COVID-19 cases in the community. SIX NATIONS OF THE GRAND – A year ago the provincial government was begging people to self-isolate for 14 days to flatten the curve and Six Nations had no cases of COVID-19.
Special passes were required for entry into Six Nations.
Now, it’s March 2021 and Six Nations has 373 cases, with more than a 150 of those accumulating in the last few weeks.
There are currently another 370 people in isolation waiting for test results.
The Six Nations Elected Council has shut down their departments for two weeks as cases have remained at least eight times higher than Toronto, based on population size.

SIX NATIONS OF THE GRAND-Six Nations community members who return to the community after crossing the border into the USA or leaving the province must quarantine for 14 days or could face a fine of up to $1000.
Six Nations Elected Council (SNEC) released a statement Wednesday noting that Six Nations Police Services (SNPS) are facing a consistent number of community members who travel across the border despite the community’s Black Level Alert status, requiring residents to only leave home for essential purposes.
“Each community member must do their part by following the health and safety measures that protect against COVID-19. It needs to be stressed to the community that they should only be travelling for essential purposes,” Lori Davis Hill, Director of Health Services said.
