Women of Lexington: The early 2000s Valerie Overton This is the last in a series of six articles about the women’s visibility banners that are hanging in Lexington Center through the end of August. Girl Scout Troop No. 66265 researched and designed the banners to honor Lexington women who have made major contributions to history. The first five articles in this series profiled a few of the many Lexington women from our history who deserve recognition. As we conclude with women who are making their mark in the early 2000s, we note that women are still achieving “firsts” in many fields:
