JACKSON, Tenn. The Scarlet Rope Project organization is bringing awareness with red sand.
The red sand in sidewalk cracks might pique your interest, and that is exactly what Scarlet Rope is trying to do with their Red Sands Project.
The week-long awareness campaign is attempting to spark conversation about an issue that affects many people: human trafficking.
“It was started to bring awareness to the vulnerable people among us that fall in the cracks,” said Julanne Stone, with Scarlet Rope.
Stone says human traffickers see vulnerability and take advantage of those individuals.
She says this is a way to educate the public on the dangers of human trafficking.

JACKSON, Tenn. The City of Jackson has added another blessing box.
This is the 27th Give Back Jack Blessing Box, and it is located in a high traffic area, right off the Highway 45 Bypass.
The box is designed to help people in a time of need, and it is located outside the World Overcomers Church.
Give Back Jack Box Founder Allison Shipp says people can drop off basic necessities for people in need.
“It will have nonperishable food items. It might have toiletries, feminine products, baby items, anything that won’t go bad sitting out in variable temperatures,” Shipp said.
