Caricom to fly flags at half-mast

As a mark of respect, the Member States of the Community and the Caricom Secretariat will fly their national flags and the Caricom Standard at half-mast for three days beginning immediately to mark the assassination of Haitian President Jovenel Moise.
The Heads of Governments of Caricom met yesterday in an emergency session and said they were “shocked and saddened” by the Moise murder during the early hours of 7 July 2021.
10,000 vaccines arrive from Grenada

Trinidad and Tobago received today 10,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines, a donation from the Government of Grenada, a statement from the Ministry of Foreign and Caricom Affairs confirmed.
Foreign and CARICOM Affairs Minister Dr Amery Browne accompanied by Ambassador of Trinidad and Tobago to the Caribbean Community Frances Seignoret and Principal Pharmacist (Ag) at the Ministry of Health Anesa Doodnath-Siboo, received the vaccines at Piarco International Airport.

The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) has mobilised efforts to support St Vincent and the Grenadines in the face of the imminent eruption of the La Soufriere Volcano.
Chairman of CARICOM and Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley yesterday said following the evacuation order of the immediate area around the volcano by St Vincent and the Grenadines Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, the CARICOM Member States had offered support to house evacuees from the affected area.
CARPHA increases testing capacity for COVID-19 Virus

Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) has received new laboratory equipment which will significantly enhance its COVID 19 testing capability.
The equipment was made possible through funding donated to CARPHA by the Agence Française de Développement (AFD, or French Development Agency in English) during a handover ceremony at the CARPHA Headquarters in Port of Spain, on Tuesday 23rd February 2021. The event was also attended by Members and Representatives of the AFD-CARPHA Project Steering Committee, including representatives of the French Regional Health Agencies of Martinique and Guadeloupe as well as the French Public Health Agency, and CARPHA Staff.
