Minister tells KWSB to step up operation against illegal hydrants - Newspaper

KARACHI: Sindh Minister for Information and Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah visited the pumping station and the water treatment plant at Hub on Wednesday. Dr Shahida Rehmani and Qadir Khan Mandokhel, both members of the National Assembly, MPA Liaqat Askani and Assadullah Khan, the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board’s (KWSB) managing director, accompanied the minister. The minister said ensuring water supply to Karachi was the government’s top priority since Pakistan Peoples Party chief Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari had issued orders for solving the problem. Nasir Shah directed the KWSB to accelerate the operation against illegal hydrants and illegal connections.

Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah presided over a five-hour-long cabinet meeting and took important decisions including procurement of security featured number plates for vehicles and reduced cotton fee from Rs20 to Rs10 per 100kg. The cabinet approved a proposal to take over four KMC hospitals Gizri Maternity Hospital, Sobhraj Maternity Hospital, Gazdarabad General Hospital in district South and Landhi Medical Complex in district Korangi along with their staff and hand them over to the Sindh health department.

Rs32 4bn released for ongoing uplift schemes, Rs2 27bn to LBs: CM

July 13, 2021 The Sindh finance department, on instructions from Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, has released Rs32.4 billion for the completion of ongoing uplift schemes. The department has already released Rs6,007.609 million to local bodies against their monthly the Octroi Zila Tax share and grant-in-aid. “Sindh is the only province in the country that has released its budget in the first week of the new financial year 2021-22.” This was stated by Chief Minister Shah in a statement issued from the CM House on Monday.
