A bodybuilder was shot dead for resisting a robbery attempt in Karachi Saturday night, according to the police.
Armed men tried to rob bodybuilding champion Farooq Rafiq at a real-estate agency in Surjani Town, the police said, adding that the victim resisted their bid and smashed the head of one of the suspects with a glass.
According to police, said that one of the men opened fire at him. Resultantly, he died on the spot. The body was shifted to a hospital for an autopsy.
Further investigation is underway. Rafiq had won Karachi Champion and Mr Central titles.

KARACHI: People in Karachi woke up to a chilly morning as the temperature in the morning was recorded at 5.8°C.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Karachi is currently experiencing a wave of cold Siberian winds.
The speed of the Siberian winds may increase today (Saturday), the meteorological department director said.
