Zoo Tours will allow kids age three and up to take an inside tour of the Amarillo Zoo. “Guests can expect to lean a lot more information on the animals like their names and ages,” explained Kayla Sell, the Amarillo Zoo’s visitor service specialist. “[They will] learn what exhibit came first here and we just celebrated 65 years here in Amarillo. Tiger Put Down at Amarillo Zoo   AMARILLO, TX – The Amarillo Zoo was forced to put down one of their most beloved animals after she contracted an aggressive case of cancer. According to KTXS, since 2011 Sabrina, the female Bengal Tiger, lived at the Amarillo Zoo and was one of the crowd favorites. Unfortunately Sabrina contracted an aggressive form of carcinoma which forced veterinarians to make the tough decision of humane euthanization. “Sabrina was a joy to care for and experience each day at the zoo. We were fortunate to have had her to share with our guests. I am deeply saddened by her passing, “ said Kayla Sell, Visitor Services Specialist for the Amarillo Zoo. “Please keep the Amarillo Zoo team in your thoughts as they navigate this difficult time. Our animals are truly an extension of our family. This loss is quite hard for our keepers and attendants.”

A couple of weeks ago, Class 1 Dental started a fundraiser for the zoo, and now the monkey exhibit is getting ready to debut a makeover mural.
