Trucking Association to provide meals to professional drivers this past summer. Cookshack Cravings fed hungry truckers along the Trans-Canada Highway in Kamloops from April through to the first week of August. Nearly every meal was paid for through donations. We loved it and the truckers were so happy, Cookshack Cravings owner Deanna Bell said. The project had plenty of support from local businesses. Everybody that had anything to do with trucking was donating, she said. READ MORE:

February 04, 2021 - 3:45 PM A new initiative by B.C. s gambling corporation could mean more food in the mouths of Kamloops less fortunate and more money in the pockets of local business. The B.C. Lottery Corporation s Spread The Local Love campaign is an online fundraiser designed to encourage residents to shop local with proceeds going directly to one of 10 participating non-profits across B.C., including the Kamloops Food Bank. Between Feb. 1 and 15, items and gift cards from local businesses and sponsored by the lottery corporation will be available on the fundraising page, where they can be purchased or bid on during a silent auction.
